Safeguarding and Prevent

We are a trusted source of impartial support for the Further º£½ÇÉçÇø and Training sector to address Safeguarding,  Prevent and British Values requirements. Our role is to provide co-ordination and thought leadership, championing the needs of the sector and helping providers to develop an effective Safeguarding culture in line with the º£½ÇÉçÇø Inspection Framework.

We support all types of providers and all types of staff, including teachers, managers, leaders and governors, as well as DSLs (designated safeguarding leads) or safeguarding officers. Key elements of our offer are funded by the Department for º£½ÇÉçÇø (DfE) as we are the trusted provider for Prevent and British Values.

National Safeguarding Forum

Are you responsible for Safeguarding and Prevent in Further º£½ÇÉçÇø and Training Sector? Or are you a Safeguarding Lead or Officer or someone who has this responsibility as part of their role?

The online forums were developed as a response to the FE sector’s need to bring together the designated safeguarding leads, deputies and those with specific safeguarding and prevent roles and responsibilities. Each forum is themed to focus on current hot topics and issues, providing a space to hear from sector specialists who share best practice and knowledge to support participants development.


Upcoming forums:

The importance of trauma-aware, anti-racist and restorative practices in the º£½ÇÉçÇø and Skills sector.

In this online session, Polly Harrow will consider how a trauma-informed approach is key to supporting the mental wellbeing of adolescent learners.
